    I am using technology to create stunning images and then manifesting them into the realm of the physical world via pen and paper.

    What is Generative Art?

    Generative art refers to any art practice where the artist creates a process, such as a set of natural language rules, a computer program, a machine, or other procedural invention, which is then set into motion with some degree of autonomy contributing to or resulting in a completed work of art.     I am creating generative art through the use of computer generated images based on both chance and rules.

    My Process

    I begin by using various Java based coding tools to generate .svg files. I then process the .svg files in Inkscape and send them to my robotic drawing machine (aka pen plotter or Axidraw) where I use standard writing instruments to draw the image on paper. I am still new to this line of art-making, and am really only beginning to learn to code, but my drive to create has never been stronger and I have never been more committed to exploring where this will go.
